Swedish furniture parts is a successful hardware supply business based in San Francisco. They provide a replacement parts service throughout the USA for a very well known manufacturer of Swedish furniture.
They already had a successful online presence when they contacted me but felt that it was time to take their website on to the next level in terms of branding and ease of use.
The brief was to inject some much needed charisma into the website and create a brand for the company that would share a similar visual language to the famous manufacturer without in anyway mimicking their established brand.
I began by establishing a visually strong brand by using a bold colour scheme and a heavy typeface that complimented the hardware supply nature of the company, this was further reinforced by incorporating a screw-head into the logo design.
The hardware theme of the brand was continued throughout the website by use of a strong and simple rectangular design with some product photography bringing additional warmth to the homepage.
The next step as to organise the products on the website into groups so that any part could be easily found in a number of ways. Research had shown that the search box had previously been the most common way of finding items so this was made into a prominent feature of the new homepage design.
The Swedish furniture parts website is now a professional and attractive looking online store that displays it's products clearly while being easy to use.
